Boys and girls ages 7 to 18 years old can fully go crazy on Sunday, 25 August during our round of the Flanders MTB Kids Series in the Hotond Arena! This famous pit behind the Hotond Sporthotel is where the GP Mario De Clercq cyclocross race is held every year. We have custom created challenging, age-appropriate trails for your kids to conquer. And there’s more: thanks to ALPINESTARS, participation is not only free for all kids but every child receives a free T-shirt from this trendy Italian brand! On top of that, all kids receive a free coupon for some yummy pancakes baked by Beauvoords Bakhuis after their race!
The event offers both official competitions for competition racers as well as promotional races for kids without a license who want to try mountain bike racing (referred to as ‘dikkebandenrace’). The course is always custom tailored to the age and experience of the kids: depending on their age and possession of a racing license, we offer up challenging climbs, technical cornering bits and some doable obstacles. For the younger and less experienced participants, the toughest climbs and descents are removed. Safety first: sponsor Alpinestars protects cyclists, and so do we!
